My name is Jess Fury, and I am a creative branding specialist based in Brisbane (Meanjin), Australia.
I have over 10 years of experience in marketing, graphic design, and communications, which I use to develop creative solutions for any project.
Having worked as a marketing consultant since 2011, I pride myself on being proactive and a lifelong student, always keen to learn new skills. I’ve worked on a team for not-for-profit and government organisations, and independently alongside B2B & B2C small business owners. Since 2017, I have worked in the Education industry as a Marketing and Communications Manager for a Prep-Year 12 College where I created a well-recognised brand, managing multiple budgets to increase positive brand awareness and enrolments with a two-year waitlist year on year. These skills have transferred to my current full-time Marketing and Communications role at Head Office of the second-largest non-government employer in Queensland, governing 147 schools across South-East Queensland.
Whilst completing a Bachelor of Creative Industries majoring in Advertising, Media and Communications at the Queensland University of Technology, a love was sparked for UX-focused design. I completed elective subjects including Web Design, Graphic Design, and Project Management which complemented my studies in Contemporary Craft and Art at TAFE Queensland. This is where I first developed my illustration and photography skills, inspired by the vibrant colours of my Indigenous Maya and Salvadorian cultural background.
In my free time, you’ll find me exploring new mediums and techniques, with my favourites including digital art, alcohol ink painting, and clay sculpture.
